As a life-long reader and child of a writer and English instructor, editing is something that has always made sense to me. From a young age I was accepting or rejecting corrections in red ink from my mother as she helped me with my school papers, and as a result, track changes feels like a second language to me.
My editorial journey led me to pursue a Master of Arts in Book Publishing from Portland State University. In my second year, I was selected as managing editor of Ooligan Press, the program’s non-profit publishing house. In this role I managed the press’s editorial timelines and oversaw the editorial processes for each book.
During my studies, I also discovered a love of design; something I wasn’t looking for and didn’t know I was missing.
When I am not editing or reading for my own enjoyment, I’m rock climbing. Over the past decade, I have traveled across the US to climb at crags in seven different states in the US and Canada. I also enjoy seeing live music and exploring my current home, Portland, with my ten-year-old dog, Daisy.
I am available to take on freelance editorial and design projects. I enjoy working on literary and contemporary adult fiction and memoir, as well as nonfiction. Send me information about your project to see if we would be a good fit.
